Every family at Willow Brook is part of the PTO!

Without your support the PTO would not be able to provide fun, family activities  - most of which are FREE!!

The Willow Brook PTO is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting students and staff at Willow Brook Elementary School.  The PTO is comprised of parents/guardians, teachers and community members.

›We welcome input from anyone who has the best interest of our school at heart.

Why Are There Dues?

First, let's be clear - the PTO is not about making or soliciting money.

However, fact is, without financial support, we couldn't provide funds, supplies and equipment to the teachers and staff.  Nor could we sponsor family events and activities - many of which are free!

Because students and their families are the primary beneficiaries of PTO spending, it only makes sense to help out.  The dues are minimal, only required once a year and are good for the whole family.  Additionally, members are given a voice on how money is spent, which events are held and continued and what new projects to begin.

Volunteering

Because we are not-for-profit, we rely heavily on parents and families.  Every event that we host needs to be scheduled and organized - and we need your help to do it!  The board is comprised of 5 parents.  It is impossible for us to do it all.

We are also a very diverse school.  There are families in many different types of occupations, with different backgrounds, experiences and knowledge.  There is a good chance someone in the school could run an event or co-chair a committee much more successfully than a board member or teacher.

  • There are many different types of opportunities to volunteer.  You can help with a specific event or you can be on a committee that works towards the organization as a whole.

  • More volunteers = less work!  The more people that help out, the less work any one individual has to do.  As they say, it takes a community...

  • You determine when and how to help.  If you have daytime hours, evening hours, weekdays, weekends, one hour a day, one hour a week, one hour a month - it all adds up and benefits everyone.

PLEASE go to the committee tab and see where your talents and strengths can best be used.

We need adults (parents, guardians, aunts, uncles, etc.) to help man the Holiday Shop!!  The Holiday Shop is an opportunity for students to do their holiday shopping on their own and get gifts to surprise their friends and family.  It's a big hit every year - and of course, we can't do it without you!

The shop will have a preview day on Monday, Dec 11 for the kids to get an idea of what is available.  They will be able to actually purchase items Tuesday, Dec 12 - Thursday, Dec 14.

Honestly, it's one of the most fun volunteer opportunities of the year!!

Volunteers help the kids watch their budget, pick out items and check out.  If you can't stay for an entire slot, please sign up anyway and indicate time restraints in the comments.  Any time you can offer is greatly appreciated!  WE NEED AT LEAST 5 ADULTS AT ALL TIMES, but are happy to have more!
